At Polar Lodges we manufacture our lodges to a highly exacting specification.  Every lodge is built to exceed the requirements of BS:3632, the residential standard for park homes. We are also a member of the NCC Product Approval Scheme.  This means that our lodges are subject to a strict inspection regime to provide consumer protection over and above the requirements of BS:3632. An overview of our standard specification is as follows:


Base: 316mmx 66mm glulam beam frame; 195mm x 46mm floor joists; 9mm conditioned OSB undertray; 200mm insulation; aluminium spreader plates; 16mm underfloor heating pipes; 22mm moisture resistant chipboard flooring.


Walls: Canexel or Western Red Cedar cladding; 25mm x 50mm battens; breatheable membrane; 89mm x 38mm studs @ 406mm centres; 75mm Celotex insulation; vapour barrier; 12mm hardwood faced ply/MDF internal walls; lining paper and topcoat.


Roof: Epoxy primed zinc alloy coated steel tile; over fascia and ridge vents; 254mm x 44mm glulam ridge beams; 170mm Knauf loft insulation; 25mm polystyrene insulation; vapour barrier; 9mm vinyl wrapped mdf ceiling panels; upvc fascia, soffits and rainwater goods.


Windows: Residential quality upvc double glazed windows, doors and patio doors; 28mm argon filled sealed units; internal glazing; 70mm frames; night vent facility; fire escape hinges; multi point shoot bolt locking; upvc window cills.


Plumbing: Gas condensing combi boiler; roof vented flue; wet underfloor heating; zoned thermostatic controls; manifold; pressured hot water system; TMV anti scald taps; WRAS specification (Water Regulations Advisory Scheme).


Electrics: Installation to BS:7671; electric towel rails to bathrooms; smoke alarms; carbon monoxide alarms; extractor fans.


Internal Joinery: Vinyl wrapped mdf skirting and architraves; faced mdf wardrobe and cupboard linings; choice of internal doors.


Flooring: Waterproof / water resistant to bathrooms; laminate to kitchen and utility; carpets to bedrooms; laminate/carpets to living areas.


Kitchens: Rigid carcasses; choice of doors and handles; laminate / wood / granite worktops; all appliances installed to BS:3632.


Bathrooms: All installed to customers' specification.
